Ambassador Profile
Individuals who can demonstrate a track record, leadership or capacity for influence in fields related to the Foundation's institutional mission may join the Programme.

Researchers, science communicators, content creators, specialised journalists and technology professionals.

AION Synapse Foundation will actively promote disciplinary, institutional and geographical diversity in the composition of the Ambassador community.
Role of the Ambassador
Ambassadors act as strategic allies of AION Synapse Foundation, voluntarily contributing to strengthening its institutional mission. Among other activities, they may:
Disseminate calls for applications and programmes.
Promote open science and international cooperation.
Showcase projects and results driven by AION.
Facilitate strategic partnerships.
Connect universities, companies and international organisations.
Participate in institutional campaigns.
Moderate events, webinars and specialised gatherings.
Represent AION institutionally when so designated.
Levels of Participation
In order to recognise the track record and impact of its members, the Programme establishes the following levels of participation.
AION Ambassador
Entry-level status within the Programme.
Senior Ambassador
Recognition for those who maintain consistent, sustained collaboration.
Lead Ambassador
Ambassadors who lead initiatives, projects or communities.
Regional Ambassador
Institutional representatives for a geographic region or thematic area.
Global Ambassador
The Programme's highest distinction, reserved for individuals with exceptional contributions to the international strengthening of AION Synapse Foundation.
Founding Global Ambassador
An honorary lifetime distinction reserved exclusively for the Inaugural Cohort of AION Founding Global Ambassadors, constituted through personal invitation of the Chairman of the Council during 2026.
Transition between levels will be determined through institutional criteria of contribution, leadership, continuity, integrity, and impact, established by AION Synapse Foundation.

Early access to information about events, activities, programmes, and collaboration opportunities promoted by AION Synapse Foundation, without this implying automatic preference in competitive calls.

Potential consideration for the International Register of Experts, or to serve as a mentor, evaluator, or member of scientific committees.
Institutional Recognition
Institutional recognition for outstanding contributions.
How Admission Works
Admission to the Programme may originate from a direct application by the candidate or an institutional nomination.
Application or Nomination
Admission may originate from a direct application by the candidate or an institutional nomination made by a current Ambassador, a Council Member, or designated Foundation staff.
Committee Review
Every application or nomination is reviewed by the Recognition Committee in accordance with the profile criteria.
Decision
The Committee may accept, request additional information, or issue a reasoned rejection. Admission is not an automatic right.
Formalisation
Acceptance is formalised through an Official Appointment and the issuance of the corresponding Institutional Credential.
The submission of an application or nomination does not guarantee admission to the Programme. The decisions of the Recognition Committee are final.
Application / Nomination Form
This form is used to submit candidates to the AION Global Ambassador Programme, either through direct application or institutional nomination.
Applications and nominations must be submitted through the Official Electronic Form. For administrative inquiries or technical support, grantsaionsynapse.org may be used.
Protection of Personal Data
AION Synapse Foundation handles the personal data of all candidates and nominees with strict confidentiality, in accordance with its institutional Privacy Policy.
Exclusive Use
Data is used solely for the management of the application/nomination, the review process, and the administration of the Ambassador community.
Strict Confidentiality
Only personnel authorised by AION Synapse Foundation will have access to the information received.
Informed Consent
By submitting an application or nomination, candidates accept the Privacy Policy and authorise the processing of their personal data for the purposes set out therein.
By submitting their application, candidates declare that they have read and accepted the Privacy Policy and Personal Data Processing Policy of AION Synapse Foundation.
